A khatti meethi Jamun barfi made with jamun, cashews, and almonds by India’s coolest mithai brand.
Pistabarfi is a Mumbai-based, design-forward Indian mithai brand that was founded by brothers Harshit and Tanay Agrawal in 2021 to save their family’s 55-year-old traditional sweet shop, Janta Dairy, from shutting down due to the pandemic.
Their grandfather started a humble sweet shop in Mumbai back in 1968, which was later managed by their father. When the COVID-19 pandemic crippled the business and forced the shop to close, Harshit and Tanay stepped in to transform it into a modern, direct-to-consumer cloud kitchen.
The brothers realized that traditional Indian sweets are rarely bought for personal, single-serving cravings and made mithai more accessible (and cool) by repackaging classic sweets.
We absolutely ove their packaging, from Mysore Pak in a sleek, easy-open cans, Kaju Katli shaped like chocolate bars, and Aam Papad packaged in strips like bubble gum!
We are driven by curiosity, and a deep love for product, and are committed to transparency. We scour the internet to find products we love—from brands we trust. We look for things that stand out for their distinctive design, quality and mindfulness. We recommend these finds on the Souk website and in our newsletters—and tell you exactly why we like them. Like any friend would do.
If you're new to this, here's the deal — when you buy something through a link on Souk, we may earn a percentage of the sale, but it is at no extra cost to you. This allows us to remain independent and focused on curating only what we genuinely love. Any ad or sponsored post will be clearly labelled as such — there are no secret product placements on Souk!
