This bamboo and ceramic butter dish would be our personal pick for a non-bulky butter dish that can go in the fridge. The body is ceramic, the bamboo lid comes with a silicone seal that keeps butter fresh and we love the convenience of the ceramic and stainless steel spreader knife that has its own slot in the lid. The smallest size it comes in is 15cm (l) x 8.5cm (b) x 6.7cm (h), which should accommodate standard 100-200g butter bricks, but it also comes in a large size that is 17cm (l) x 10.7cm (w) x 8.3cm (h) which should better accomodate a 500g brick of butter in terms of the height when taking into account the size of the lid seal. (Standard 500g butter bricks in India are between 4-6 cm in height.) It's both dishwasher and microwave-safe without the bamboo lid.
