We’ll be honest, while we’re not exactly sticklers for resolutions that require dramatic overhauls on January 1st, we do like thinking of a new year as an opportunity for a fresh start or as permission to make fresh attempts at changing something we’d like to be different in our lives.
So think of the following as things we’d add to the ‘More’ side of our ‘More/Less’ list for 2026 if you will. Instead of lofty ambitions, these are everyday goals that we hope we’ll be steadily working on long after the new year energy fades.

HOME & LIVING 01 Be kinder to ourselvesWe’d light this on days we can't people, or adult, as a neroli-scented reminder that it’s ok to just be and wait for things to get better. (And we choose to believe that they will get better as long as you show yourself some grace, get back up when you can and keep going.) |

STYLE 02 Go on more weekend tripsJOYN creates handmade bags from their studio in the foothills of the Himalayas where each piece is crafted start to finish, cut, stitched, and signed by hand in small batches. We like the fun tomato gingham print on this hand block-printed cotton canvas bag with recycled leather handles. It’s perfect for weekend getaways and the fact that it’s been stamped by hand using hand-carved blocks means no two bags are exactly alike. |

HOME & LIVING 03 Read more, and continue to educate ourselves.‘Palestine’ by Joe Sacco is considered to be a landmark of graphic journalism. In it, Sacco powerfully documents his own experiences and the daily lives of Palestinians during the First Intifada in the West Bank and Gaza Strip with remarkable insight and clarity, through drawings, reportage and story-telling. |

HOME & LIVING 04 Host more gatherings with friendsWe like the mix of materials in this two-toned wood and ceramic chip and dip server. The outside is black-stained mango wood with a simple design, the inside has a natural wood finish and the ceramic dip bowl is easily removable for cleaning. It’s available in two sizes (the larger size makes for generous servings and fewer refills) and has been ethically handmade in Moradabad, India, supporting local artisanship. |

STYLE 05 Build simple self-care ritualsWe all know that a champi is more than just hair-care. When done right, it not only nourishes one’s hair and scalp, but can also ease headaches, lower cortisol and improve sleep. This curated kit brings together everything you need for a good champi—a bottle of nourishing Brahmi hair oil, a wooden scalp massager, and a silk and organza scrunchie—in a reusable block-printed cotton pouch with a leak-proof inner lining, which makes it a perfect gift of self-care for yourself and others. |

HOME & LIVING 06 Switch to clean + green home-care productsThis hand soap powder concentrate by Bare Necessities is so earth-friendly that even the ink used on the packaging pouch is vegetable-based, making it completely compostable. It has a lower carbon footprint since there is no transportation of plastic bottles filled with 90% water, comes with a reusable glass dispenser, and the plant-based ingredients make it good for you, your children and groundwater. |

GIFTING 07 Build an entire wardrobe of long-lasting pieces from homegrown, environment-friendly brands. We’ve long admired No Nasties for the way they make sustainability look good, and this shirt's a prime example. The soft blue with its barely-there checks is easy to wear and likely to become a go-to in most wardrobes. Made from organic textured cotton and trimmed with corozo buttons (durable, biodegradable buttons made from the seeds of the Tagua palm tree), this one’s also vegan, carbon negative, and a good look for both you and the planet. |

FOOD & DRINK 08 Eat less sugar.Monk fruits are small sub-tropical melons traditionally grown on steep forested mountains that get their name from Buddhist monks who’ve harvested and used it as a natural sweetener for nearly 800 years. We love that this monk fruit juice concentrate by Urban Platter has a single ingredient (100% Monk fruit juice) that is sourced from non-GMO Monk fruit. A word of caution: Start small, as too much can get a bit bitter and maybe even leave a weird aftertaste. |

HOME & LIVING 09 Up dental hygiene. This water flosser by Salt is a portable, ‘precision-engineered solution for superior dental hygiene’. The targeted stream of pulsating water and 360° rotatable nozzle reach the spots a toothbrush misses, leaving your mouth feeling squeaky clean. It’s rechargeable, travel-friendly, and definitely beats the fiddling around and effort required with a string floss. |
