A guide to taking care of yourself, drawn from generations of knowledge.
Author Nethra Gomatheswaran spent six years gathering the beauty and wellness rituals of South India (over 140 practices and 100 ingredients collected from grandmothers, mothers, aunts, and communities whose lives remain deeply woven with these traditions) for Love, Paati (which translates to 'Love, Grandma' in Tamil)—a richly photographed, premium indie publication that is a collectible coffee table book, cultural archive, and wellness guide rolled into one.
"Much of this knowledge survives quietly, passed between women in fragments, routines and conversation. I began documenting it after years of watching my grandmother's rituals reappear as luxury wellness—often unrecognisable from where they came from. The dissonance became the reason to make the record. Love, Paati is a granddaughter's attempt to preserve these rituals within their own context, while that context still survives."
Every page features stunning photography and easy-to-follow recipes (from infused hair oils, body scrubs, cleansers, and masks, to teas and quick bites) that use diverse ingredients ranging from familiar flowers, fruits, and spices to rarer ingredients like saffron, gold ash, and powdered pearls. We think 'Love, Paati' would make a memorable, sentimental gift for wellness and slow-living enthusiasts alike.
