The wool for this jacket from Kullvi Whims—a women-led social enterprise from the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh—was sourced from the free-grazing sheep of gaddi shepherds practising sustainable grazing, spun into yarn by artisans on traditional taklis and charkhas, and dyed naturally with madder root. We love the reimagined traditional Tara motifs and pattu checks, and highly recommend wearing it often for as many winters and travels-to-cold-climes as posssible, before passing it on as a family heirloom!
